what is Thermal imaging

Thermal Imaging has evolved into one of the most valuable diagnostic tools used for predictive maintenance.
Thermal Imaging, also known as Thermography, is production of non-contact infrared, or heat images from which anomalies often invisible to the naked eye can be clearly identified.

Thermography allows corrective action to be taken before costly system failures occur. Portable Infrared imaging systems scan equipment and structures, then instantly convert the thermal images to visible pictures displaying quantitative temperature analysis.

Thermal image surveys are fast becoming the recommended electrical and fire safety reporting method by large insurers nationwide, In electrical installations, many faults manifest themselves in a localised build up of heat, which over a period of time result in failure, and even fire.

Electrical Installation And Appliance Testing UK Ltd
offer a wide range of services essential to ensure the trouble free operation of electrical installations and equipment

Most faults can be detected by infrared Thermography Problems identified early can normally be remedied by tightening a connection bolt, replacing a bearing etc, rather than suffering a failure that will result in down time and costly inconvenience.
Early detection of machinery faults can avoid the costly repercussions of failure, for example, replacement of items such as faulty bearings before further damage occcures could save extended equipment down time, which will amply repay the costs of regular condition monitoring.

The running costs due to heating losses alone can be considerable. Regular thermographic surveys can detect areas of excessive heat loss, both in the boiler room, and the building structure. Areas of deterioration due to leakage or condensation damage to insulation etc can be detected before the inevitable structural damage manifests itself.

On completion of the Thermographic survey our specialist windows based  software produces full analysis in a format suitable for both engineers and health and safety departments alike on either hard copy or CD Rom.All documentation is produced to ISO 9001 standards and backed by free technical advice.
